Stayantra Rewards and Referral Terms

Version 2026-09-19 · effective 19 September 2026

Summary

This summary is here to help you. It does not replace the full terms below.

  • Stayantra Rewards is free. You earn points on money you actually pay for stays at participating hotels, and use them at any participating hotel.
  • 1 point is worth NPR 0.10 of value at a participating hotel. Points have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money.
  • Points are pending for 14 days after check-out before you can use them.
  • Your points expire if your account has no points activity for 24 months. We warn you 30 days before.
  • Refer a friend: you each get 500 points when they complete their first qualifying stay.
  • Deleting your account means losing your points.
  • We give you 30 days' notice of changes that make the programme worse for you, and 90 days' notice if we end it.

1. About the programme

1.1 Stayantra Rewards (the "programme") is a points programme run by the Stayantra company you contract with under our Terms of Service ("we", "us"). These terms form part of the Terms of Service.

1.2 How it works. The programme is a closed loop between participating hotels. Each participating hotel buys points from us and holds them in its own points wallet. When you earn points at a hotel, that hotel funds them from its wallet. When you use points at a hotel, the points go to that hotel. We fund referral rewards ourselves.

1.3 Participating hotels. A hotel takes part only if it chooses to and bills in Nepalese rupees. A hotel may stop taking part (see section 8).

2. Membership

2.1 Membership is free. To be a member you need a Stayantra account, which means you must be 18 or older.

2.2 Your points belong to your account. Only you can use them. Hotel staff cannot spend your points for you.

2.3 One person, one account. Points cannot be combined between accounts.

3. Earning points

3.1 On stays. When you stay at a participating hotel and check out, you earn points on the money you actually paid for the stay. Each hotel sets its own earn rate, between 1% and 10% of what you paid, in point value. The default is 1%, which is 10 points for every NPR 100 you pay. Some rates or packages may give extra points, as shown when you book.

3.2 When you do not earn. You do not earn points:

  • on bookings made through online travel agencies or other third-party sites;
  • on stays at a hotel where you work, or which you own or manage;
  • on amounts that are refunded (see section 4.3);
  • at a hotel that is not participating when you check out.

3.3 If a hotel's wallet is short. Points you earn at a hotel come from that hotel's wallet. If the wallet does not hold enough points to cover what you earned, you receive the points it can cover, and we alert the hotel.

3.4 Other ways to earn. Referrals (section 9) and, occasionally, a points gift from a hotel for a real stay with it.

4. Pending points

4.1 Points you earn are pending for 14 days after check-out. You cannot use pending points.

4.2 After 14 days, pending points become available in your account.

4.3 If money you paid for a stay is refunded, the points earned on it are reversed. If the refund happens after the points became available, we take back up to the points available in your account at that time.

5. Using points

5.1 What 1 point is worth. Every point is worth NPR 0.10 of value at a participating hotel. This value is the same across the network, whichever hotel you earned it at.

5.2 How you can use points. At any participating hotel that accepts points, you can use them:

  • to buy one of the hotel's offers, which gives you a voucher (for example a discount, a free meal or another perk);
  • for a points or points-plus-cash package offered on a room rate; or
  • to pay part of your bill. Each hotel sets a limit on how much of a bill can be paid with points. Unless the hotel sets otherwise, it is 50%.

5.3 Points are held until check-out. When you use points on a booking, they are held until you check out, and then they go to the hotel. If you cancel the booking, held points are returned to you. If you do not arrive and have not cancelled (a no-show), held points go to the hotel, in the same way as a non-refundable payment.

5.4 Vouchers. A voucher is for one booking at the hotel that issued it, and its terms are fixed when you buy it. Each voucher shows its conditions and expiry date. You can cancel an unused voucher and get your points back.

5.5 No cash value. Points have no cash value. They cannot be sold, bought from other members, transferred to another person, or exchanged for money, and we never pay them out in cash. Using points does not create a debt that we or any hotel owe you in money.

6. Expiry

6.1 Your available points expire if your account has no points activity for 24 months. Points activity means earning, using, receiving or having points returned.

6.2 We email you at least 30 days before your points expire, so you have time to use them.

6.3 Pending points and points held for a booking are not affected by expiry until they are released.

7. Fraud and errors

7.1 We may reverse points, cancel vouchers, or suspend or close a programme account if points were earned or used by fraud, by abuse of these terms, or through a technical error. Examples include fake bookings, bookings made only to earn points, self-referrals, or points issued by mistake.

7.2 We may also freeze a hotel's ability to issue points or correct errors in its wallet. While a hotel is frozen, vouchers you already bought from it can still be used.

7.3 Before we act against your account for suspected fraud or abuse, we will tell you what we have found and give you a chance to respond, unless doing so would help the fraud continue. You can appeal as described in our Terms of Service.

8. If a hotel leaves the programme

8.1 A hotel may stop taking part, or may stop accepting points for a time.

8.2 Points you have already earned stay in your account and remain usable at other participating hotels.

8.3 If you have an unused voucher from that hotel, you can cancel it and get your points back. Points held for a booking at that hotel are returned to you if the booking is cancelled.

9. Guest referral programme

9.1 How it works. You can invite friends to Stayantra with your personal referral code or link. When a friend you referred joins with your code and completes their first qualifying stay, you each receive 500 points.

9.2 A qualifying stay is your friend's first stay at a hotel on Stayantra that has been checked out, lasted at least one night, and for which they paid at least NPR 1,000. The referral points are then pending for 14 days, like other earned points.

9.3 Rules.

  • Your friend must add the code before their first booking. A code added after that does not count. If your friend's account was first created by a hotel during a stay, they can add a code when they claim the account; in that case the reward depends on the first stay booked after the code was added.
  • You cannot refer yourself, or use another account of your own.
  • Hotel staff and owners cannot take part in referrals involving their own hotel.
  • Each new member can be referred once, and each referral earns one reward for each of you.
  • Referral points are funded by us, not by a hotel.

9.4 Invite only people you know. Only invite people you know personally and who you believe would welcome the invitation. Do not post your code in public places that offer rewards, send it in bulk, or buy advertising with it. Most invitations are shared by you, using your code or link. Where you ask us to send an invitation for you, we send one invitation email for each invite, saying it comes from you, and no reminders. We use your friend's email address only to send that invitation and to record the referral, and if your friend does not join, we do not send them marketing.

9.5 Hotel referrals. Hotels can refer other hotels to Stayantra. When an invited hotel moves to a paid plan, both hotels receive one free month. That programme is governed by the Hotel Agreement.

10. Changes to the programme and ending it

10.1 We may change these terms or the programme. If a change is materially worse for you, such as a lower point value, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect.

10.2 We may end the programme. If we do, we will give you at least 90 days' notice, and you can use your points during that time.

10.3 Changes do not affect points already held for a booking, or vouchers already bought, unless the law requires it.

11. Tax

Points are a benefit given with your stays. Where the law of your country treats points or rewards as taxable income, reporting and paying that tax is your responsibility.

12. Closing your account

12.1 If you delete your Stayantra account, your points are lost and cannot be restored or paid out. Unused vouchers are cancelled.

12.2 Before you delete your account, use any points you want to keep the value of. Account deletion is explained at https://stayantra.com/delete-account and in our Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the consumer law of the country where you live. If you have a problem with the programme, please use our complaints process or email info@stayantra.com.
